Facing My Fears With JAWS – Francis Coppola Chardonnay

I first saw the movie Jaws when I was eight.

I thought I was old enough to watch my first scary movie. Knowing it was a classic, one of those movies everyone just had to see, I thought I would give it a shot.

My mom tried to convince me otherwise. But for some reason I wouldn’t back down. “You’re on your own, kid,” was my mother’s response.

I ended up sleeping in her bed for the next three nights.

Wine Pricing: The Complexities In The Cost Of The Bottle

A friend recently asked me why Canadian wines are so expensive. Shouldn’t they be cheaper since we’re not paying for shipping from halfway across the world? This question got me thinking about wine pricing.  How do wineries come up with pricing for their wines? Why do some wines sell for $50 and others for only $8? Is the $50 wine necessarily better than the $8 one? These are the kinds of questions I plan to get to the bottom of by the end of this post.
